1886PHI partners with nonprofits, healthcare organizations, and mission-driven enterprises to build stronger programs and deliver lasting change.
Where the Foundation delivers directly to families, the consultancy helps other organizations build programs of their own, pairing public health strategy with disciplined delivery.
We help health departments, clinics, nonprofits, and community organizations design and strengthen maternal and infant health programs built around the realities of the families they serve.
A program model your team can launch and sustain, designed for the community it serves.
We help organizations understand and close preventable health gaps, turning data and community insight into a clear plan for action.
A grounded, evidence-based roadmap that shows where to focus and why it matters.
We help founders and growing nonprofits build strong foundations, from formation through the systems that sustain long-term growth. We have done this firsthand.
An organization built to last, with the structure and systems funders trust.
We help grant-funded and mission-driven teams deliver what they promised their funders, bringing the project discipline that many public health efforts lack. Backed by PMP and Scrum credentials.
Initiatives that launch on time, stay on mission, and deliver what was funded.
We help organizations prepare to win and manage funding, building the narrative and the systems that keep programs both fundable and accountable.
A stronger case for support and the systems to steward funding with confidence.
Our approach is grounded in the work of building and leading 1886 Global Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) advancing health across six pillars in the United States, Barbados, Africa, and Grenada. We bring the perspective of an organization that has designed programs, secured funding, and delivered for families directly, not theory from the sidelines.
1886 Public Health Impact was founded on a simple belief: healthy communities are built through equity, dignity, and impact. That belief was not formed in a boardroom. It was formed in the work of building a nonprofit from the ground up.
Our founder, Dr. Nesha Abass, is a public health strategist, health equity advocate, and program and grant development expert. She is the Founder and CEO of 1886 Global Health Foundation, a 501(c)(3) advancing maternal and infant health equity across Collin, Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant counties. That experience, forming an organization, designing programs, developing grants, and delivering for families, is the foundation of everything the consultancy offers.
Dr. Abass holds a Doctor of Healthcare Administration and an MBA in International Business, and is a certified Project Management Professional and ScrumMaster. Her work spans public health strategy, healthcare management, nonprofit development, and program delivery, with a growing focus on global and diaspora health.
The result is a rare dual vantage point. We advise as consultants with the perspective of an organization that has done the work, having founded and led a nonprofit from the ground up. We know what funders ask for because we have answered them, and where programs stall because we have carried them through. Where many consultancies stop at strategy, our project management discipline carries the work through delivery. That is the 1886PHI difference: strategy and delivery under one roof.
We design for the communities most often left behind, and we measure success by who is reached.
Every family, team, and organization we work with is met with respect and genuine partnership.
We pursue outcomes that are measurable, practical, and built to outlast the engagement.
Strategy is only as good as its delivery. Every engagement follows the same disciplined arc, scaled to your project, so you always know where we are and what you will have in hand at the end of each phase.
We listen before we advise. Discovery grounds the engagement in your mission, your community, and your operational reality.
A discovery summary that names the real problem, the constraints, and the opportunity.
We map a practical plan grounded in evidence and your reality. Every recommendation comes with the how, not just the what.
A strategy and roadmap your team can act on immediately, with priorities made explicit.
This is where our PMP and Agile discipline sets us apart. We manage the work alongside your team, keeping the initiative on time, on scope, and on mission.
A delivered initiative and a team that saw disciplined project management in practice.
Impact that ends when the consultant leaves is not impact. We build the systems, documentation, and skills that keep the work going after we step back.
The systems and confidence to carry the work forward on your own.
Whether you need a focused sprint or a long-term partner, we structure the work to fit your goals and your budget.
A scoped project with clear deliverables and a fixed timeline, ideal for an assessment, a program design, or a grant push.
Continuing strategic support and hands-on guidance as your program grows, month over month.
Interim program or project leadership that steps in to drive delivery when your team needs capacity now.
Every engagement starts with a conversation. Share a bit about your organization and goals, and we will follow up to schedule a consultation.
